Tampomas geothermal plant to start running in 2018

State-owned electricity company PLN has set a target for the Tampomas geothermal power plant in Sumedang Regency, West Java, to begin operation in 2018.
Contractor PT Wijaya Karya Jawa Bara Power (Wika Jabar) has completed the survey work, and is currently making preparation to start exploration drilling. The company is currently still looking for a partner to carry out the drilling project. .
?The government is still discussing the electricity sales contract (ESC) with Wika,? said Anang Yahmadi, Senior Manager for Geothermal Energy at PLN said last week. He added that the selling price of the electricity has been agreed Rp 598 per Kwh.
The 1x45 MW geothermal power plant project requires an investment of US$110 million. The project, which was started in 2010, is expected to increase power supply in the West Java region.
