Central Kalimantan coal miner PT Tamtama Perkasa, a coal unit of the Barito Group, has sealed an offtake deal with international trader Noble for its all coal output, an industrial source told Petromindo.Com.
Tamtama expects to produce 1.2 million tons of coal this year, the entire output of which will go to Noble, the source said. Tamtama has started coal commercial production since Dec 2012.
Tamtama coal is mined from its concession some 45 km from the jetty near Muara Teweh, and some 527 km from the jetty to Taboneo Port via Barito River. The calorific value is about 6500-7,300 kcal/kg (GAR) with total sulphur of 0.4%
Tamtama signed contract with PT Thiess Contractors Indonesia in May 2012 to provide mining services over a period of five years to support the delivery of 7.5 million tons of coal.
