Tangguh LNG plant unaffected by quake

The Tangguh LNG plant in West Papua was not affected by a 5.5-magnitude earth quake that occurred in the province Tuesday afternoon, said Tantri Yuliandini, a spokesperson at BP Indonesia, the plant?s operator, to Petromindo.com.

The Tangguh LNG plant currently comprises of two units each with a capacity of 3.8 million tons per annum (mtpa). The company is developing a third unit (train 3) also with a capacity of 3.8 mtpa, and has appointed a consortium comprising of Tripatra, Chiyoda, Saipem and Suluh Ardhi Engineering as the EPC contractor for the expansion project, which is targeted to be completed 2020.
