BP Indonesia, operator of the Tangguh LNG plant in West Papua Province, said that the routine maintenance of the Tangguh Train 2 will not affect commitment to its LNG buyers.

?The maintenance has been factored into Tangguh's 2017 production plan and will not impact our commitment to Tangguh LNG buyers,? said Dharmawan Syamsu, Country Head at BP Indonesia to Petromindo.com Monday.

As has been previously reported, the Tangguh Train 2 was scheduled to undergo routine maintenance from April 3 to second week of May.

?Since Tangguh began operations in 2009, we have safely delivered more than 750 LNG cargoes to our customers. Last year, we delivered a record 119 LNG cargoes, the highest ever since we started operations,? he said. ?This year, we continue to make good progress on managing our contractual commitments, and ensuring the safety and reliability of our operations.?

The Tangguh LNG plant currently comprises of two units each with a capacity of 3.8 million tons per annum (mtpa). The company is developing a third unit (Train 3) also with a capacity of 3.8 mtpa, and has appointed a consortium comprising of Tripatra, Chiyoda, Saipem and Suluh Ardhi Engineering as the EPC contractor for the expansion project, which is targeted to be completed 2020.
