?I also heard that rumor developing in the market, but thus far, we have not received any formal notification. But considering the pricing and terms and condition we offered, I think that would be sensible,? said BP Migas senior official in charge of Indonesian LNG marketing Eddy Purwanto on Wednesday. Eddy expected Tai Power to name the winners later this month or next month.
Another industry source close to the deal claimed to have also heard the same rumor. ?But it?s too early to say, anything can happen, even in the last minute. So let?s just wait for the announcement,? said the source.
Taipower opened tender to supply 1.7 million tons of LNG per annum for 25 years starting 2008 for its Tatan power station.
The tender attracted four bidders, a Royal Dutch/Shell venture, which will source the LNG from Sakhalin, Taiwan's state-owned CPC, Tung Ting Gas Corp and United Resources Inc. It was not clear where CPC would source its LNG. (alex/godang)
