Tangguh to begin LNG shipment in April: Purnomo

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources said on Wednesday that BP plc-operated Tangguh LNG plant in West Papua would start first shipment in April 2009, or two months later than initially planned.
Purnomo said that first shipment would go to South Korean customers, followed by Fujian, China and Costa Azul, Mexico.
The Tangguh LNG plant, which has capacity of 7.6MTPA, has already secured long term LNG sales to four customers. It will deliver LNG to the Fujian LNG project in China, K-Power Co., Ltd in Korea, POSCO in Korea and Sempra Energy LNG Marketing Corp. in Mexico. (bernard)
