Tangguh Train 3 to supply gas for industries in Papua: SKK Migas

BP Berau Ltd, the operator of the Tangguh LNG plant in Papua, has been asked to carry out a study for the supply of gas to petrochemical and fertilizer firms in the province.
The company is requested to supply about 180 mmscfd of gas to the local industries from the planned Tangguh Train 3 facility.
?In the plan of development (PoD), BP has been requested to carry out a study to supply gas to petrochemical/fertilizer firms by as much as 180 mmscfd. The study will be completed in 2016,? Deputy for Commercial Control at upstream authority SKK Migas, Widhiyawan Prawiraatmadja told Petromindo.com Wednesday.
He added that to date, SKK Migas is still looking for overseas buyers for the output from the Train 3 facility.
BP Berau is currently undertaking an expansion of the existing Tangguh LNG facility, called The Tangguh Expansion Project, located in Bintuni Bay West Papua. The Tangguh Train 3 facility will have a capacity of 3.8 million tons per annum, about 40 percent of which to be dedicated to the domestic market. It is expected to come on stream in 2018.
