Tangguh Train II has yet to resume production

The Train II facility of the Tangguh LNG plant in West Papua has yet to resume production as repair work is still progressing following a fire incident late last month.

?The Train II has yet to resume production because repair work is still on going,? said Y. Widjanarko, Deputy at the Oil and Gas Upstream Business Unit, a caretaker organization taking over the role and function of BPMIGAS, following the closure of the oil and gas authority.

It remains unclear as to when the Train II will resume production. Meanwhile, the Train I facility has resumed production following the completion of the maintenance work recently, said public relations chief of the Oil and Gas Upstream Business Unit.

Operated by BP Indonesia, the Tangguh LNG plant in the Bintuni Bay area of West Papua province has two trains which both have a total capacity of 3.8 million tons per year.
