Tangguh Train II returns to normal

The Train II facility of the Tangguh LNG plant in West Papua, which had stopped operation following a fire incident in early November, has resumed to normal operation, said an official at SK Migas.
?The Train II was re-started on December 5, and has been producing normally since December 8,? Hadi Prasetyo, Head of PR, Security and Formality Division, told petromindo.com.
It is operating to gradually reach its full capacity,? Hadi added. The Tangguh LNG plant in the Bintuni Bay area now has two trains which both have a total capacity of 3.8 million tons of LNG per year.
The cooling unit of Train II caught a small fire early in November, which was estimated to have been caused by overheating. Operation procedures require operator to stop the operation as soon as possible after fire.
