Tangkuban Parahu Geothermal Power to drill six big holes in 2017

PT Tangkuban Parahu Geothermal Power, subsidiary of electricity company PT Indonesia Power, plans to drill six large holes in June 2017 at the Mt Tangkuban Perahu geothermal area in Lembang, West Java, as the company seeks to accelerate exploration activity.
Sugeng Triyono, President Director of the company told Petromindo.com that state-owned electricity firm PT PLN, the parent of Indonesia Power, has received strong funding support from international financial institutions to finance several geothermal projects including the development of the Tangkuban Parahu geothermal area.
He added that the company is in the process to obtain all the necessary licenses from the government in January 2017. "We will conduct maximum drilling of up to 2,700 meters depth," he said, adding that the investment for this exploration activity is around US$6 million to $10 million.
The company is planning to develop geothermal power plant project with total capacity of 110 MW.
