State-owned electricity company PLN has set a target for the Tangkuban Perahu II geothermal power plant located in the borders of Banung and Subang regencies in West Java to start operating in 2015-2016.
The local administration is currently in the process of issuing the necessary permit for PT Wahana Sambadhasakti (WSS) as the developer of the project.
?The developer has yet to start exploration work. In addition, the government and the developer have yet to reach an agreement on the price (of the electricity),? said Senior Manager for Geothermal and Renewable Energy at PLN, Anang Yahmadi.
The construction of two power generation units, each with a capacity of 30 MW, will supply electricity into the Java and Bali interconnection network.
