Tanito acquires C. Kalimantan coal mine

Coal mining group Tanito Group has acquired majority stake at Central Kalimantan coal miner PT.Batubara 2000 Abadi and has taken over the mine?s operations.

A company official told Petromindo.Com that the mine is currently at construction stage and will enter production stage next year. Official did not give further detail about production plan.

Barubara 2000 is the third generation coal contract of work (CCoW) holder with concession area of over 33,000 hectares located in Barito Utara regency.

According to Indonesian Coal Book 2006/2007 data, the concession has a mineable reserves of 58 million tones.

Tanito operates several coal mining in Sumatra and Kalimantan including Riau Bara Harum in Riau, Tanito Harum and Mahakam Sumber Jaya in East Kalimantan and Tambang Damai also in East Kalimantan.(denny)
