Tuesday, March 25 2008 - 02:32 AM WIB
The Tanjung Jati B coal-fired power plant in Jepara, Central Java has decided to hold another tender to find a supplier of coal because the participants of the previous tender failed to meet the technical requirements set by the power plant.
"We shall announce the retender as soon as possible," Tanjung Jati B Fuel Manager Chris Leo Manggala told Petromindo.Com on Tuesday.
The 2x660 MW power plant is operated by PT Pembangkitan Tanjung Jati, a subsidiary of state owned electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN).
The firm announced in February this year a tender to supply the power plant 800,000 tons of MCV coal per year starting September 2008.
The tender attracted three bidders, that is Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC), Indominco Mandiri and Antang Gunung Meratus, which are all coal producers. (Denny)
