The Customs Office in Tanjung Pinang seized last week a ship with about 200 tons of tin slag on board heading from Bangka Island to Malaysia due to the lack of necessary export documents, Kompas reported on Wednesday.
M. Lufti, a senior official of the Customs Office in Tanjung Pinang, said Monday that the light ship KM Musdalifa originating from Belinyu, Bangka, was seized when it was about to enter the Malaysian water.
The seizure was the second made by the Tanjung Pinang's Customs Office since May. In May 12, the Customs Office also seized a ship carrying 310 tons of tin slag near the Malaysian water. Both ships tried to illegally export tin to Malaysia from Bangka by abusing the inter-island trade documents. (*)
