Tanjung Power obtains environmental approval

PT Tanjung Power has finally obtained environmental impact assessment (or Amdal) approval for its planned 2x100 MW coal-fired power plant in Tabalong Regency, South Kalimantan, from the local regency administration, Antara reported Thursday.

Salahudin, Public Relations officer at Tanjung Power, which is owned by IDX-listed coal miner PT Adaro Energy Tbk and Korea EWP, said the company would proceed with developing supporting facilities following the Amdal approval.

Adaro Director Syah Indra Aman said earlier on Tuesday that financial closing for the project is expected to be completed by the end of this year, to pave the way for Tanjung Power to start construction process next year.(*)
