The Tarahan Baru Unit 1 coal-fired power plant in South Lampung will require coal supply of 630,000 tons per year. The coal will be supplied by PT Hanson Energy and PT PLN Batubara, the coal division of state-owned electricity firm PLN.

?We calculate (the coal requirement) based on the capacity of the plant which is 2x100 MW,? Helmi Najamuddin, Head of the PLN Coal Division, told Petromindo.com on Wednesday.

The coal-fired power plant is still under final construction stage, being developed by PT Adhi Karya. The target is for the plant to start operation in December, the electricity supply of which will help increase electrification ratio in Lampung.
