The East Kalimantan provincial administration plans to build a gas distribution network in the province?s growing town of Tarakan next year.
?The feasibility is underway, and hopefully the construction of the gas distribution facilities could be commenced next year,? oil and gas downstream regulator BPH Migas, Tubagus Haryono said.
He said that the gas distribution network would include the construction of gas pipelines for about 36,000 households in the town.
According to him, the town with a population of 180,000 people will need gas supply of 1 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD).
Tubagus said that Medco, which produces about 21 MMSCFD of gas in the province, had agreed to provide the gas supply for the town. (*)
