Tax Committee recommends joint audit on oil, gas firms

Saturday, June 12 2010 - 02:54 AM WIB

The Tax Supervisory Committee has recommended the directorate general of taxation and the directorate general and customs and excise conduct joint audits on oil, gas and crude palm oil (CPO) exports.

The Committee's chairman Anwar Suprijadi said the recommendation had been submitted to Finance Minister Agus Martowardojo.

The joint audit aimed at preventing tax evasions by the oil, gas and CPO companies, he said.

?We notice that there is a tendency (on the part of the oil, gas and CPO producers) to lie about their tax refunds, export tax. They can't easily dupe customs office but when they come to the tax office, they are free,? he told Detik.Com in Jakarta on Friday. (*)
