Tax office to audit acquisition by AWE of Northwest Natuna, Anambas blocks

ASX-AWE Ltd said on Wednesday that the Indonesian taxation office (ITO) has indicated it will undertake an audit of the 2012 acquisition by AWE of Northwest Natuna and Anambas blocks as part of the acquisition of Ande Ande Lumut (AAL) field from Genting, as well as inquiring into the sale of 50 percent of the AAL PSC to Santos in 2012.

?AWE is engaging with the ITO in relation to these matters and no amended assessments have been issued,? the company said in a statement, but did not provide further details.

AWE completed in February of 2012 acquisition of 100 percent of North West Natuna (NWN) and Anambas blocks in the Natuna Sea from Genting Berhad. The NWN PSC contains the undeveloped Ande Ande Lumut (AAL) oil field.
