IDX-listed coal mining firm PT TBS Energi Utama Tbk (IDX: TOBA) said that its 2x3 MW mini hydro power plant project in Lampung Province is on track to reach commercial operation date (COD) status by mid-2024.

TBS acquired a 49% stake in PT Adimitra Energi Hidro (AEH) in December 2020 as part of the company’s strategic agenda toward renewable energy.

AEH is developing a 2x3 MW mini hydro power plant (PLTMH) in Sumber Jaya, Lampung Province. In February 2021, AEH signed a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with state-owned electricity firm PT PLN and successfully achieved financial close as of December 2021.

“As of FY2023, AEH is positively progressing on the construction phase covering the tunnel, weir, and access road and is on track to reach COD by mid-2024,” TBS said in a recent statement.

AEH started construction of the estimated US$15-18 million mini hydro power plant project in February of 2022.  PT Wijaya Karya is the main EPC contractor of the project.
