Technip bags FEED work for Kalimantan gas field development

French engineering firm Technip has won front-end engineering design (FEED) work for Pearl Energy?s Ruby gas field in Sebuku PSC offshore Kalimantan, a senior official with upstream oil, gas authority BPMIGAS said on Wednesday.

Deputy Chairman Hardiono told Petromindo.Com that the French firm and Australian firm Worley Parsons were the remaining bidder for the FEED work.

Hardiono said the FEED is expected to be completed in July 2010

Pearl Energy, a unit of UAE-based investment holding Mubadala Development Company, will develop Ruby field, which will consist of wellhead and production platforms and 300-km pipeline to flow gas to Senipah processing facility and then to Bontang LNG plant.

The field is expected to start production in 2012 with peak gas production of 100MMCFD. Earlier reports said that Pearl, which has 100 percent interest in the block, will invest more than US$300 million to develop the block. (godang)
