Tempuran Emas to make Kuala Tanjung port as its transshipment

IDX-listed shipping firm PT Pelayaran Tempuran Emas Tbk (Temas Line) said it will make Kuala Tanjung Multipurpose Terminal (KTMT) in the Kuala Tanjung Port, Batubara Regency, North Sumatera as its transshipment port.
The company said Tuesday (21/05) that two of its large vessels MV Situ Mas and MV Segoro Mas will be docked at the terminal every week.
The KTMT port is operated by PT Prima Multi Terminal, which is jointly owned by state-run port operator PT Pelindo I (55 percent), state construction firms PT Pembangunan Perumahan Tbk (25 percent) and PT Waskita Karya Tbk (20 percent).
MV Situ Mas has a length of 215 meters with weight of 27,915 tons, will transport cements from Jakarta. The vessel will upload 219 container boxes at the KTMT port.
While, VM Segoro Mas has length of 96.5 meters with weight of 3,000 tons and will offload 140 container boxes.
"Temas Line is committed to anchor at the Kuala Tanjung port. Temas Line is the second shipping line that will make a routine call to the port after PT Salam Pacific Indonesia Lines (SPIL) which has routinely docked at the Kuala Tanjung port," President Director of PT Prima Multi Terminal Robert Sinaga was quoted by bisnis.com as saying on Thursday (23/05).
MV Oriental Diamond and MV SPIL Ningsih owned by SPIL deliver consumer goods commodity to the port every two weeks.
KTMT is equipped with 500x60 meters of jetty, trestle along 2.8 km for four truck lanes and other loading infrastructures such as 3 units of ship to shore (STS) crane, 8 units of automated rubber tyred gantry (ARTG) crane, 21 units of truck terminal and 2 units of mobile harbour crane (MHC) as well as terminal operating system (TOS) for containers and bulk materials.
Robert Sinaga said the Kuala Tanjung Multipurpose Terminal was designed to become an export gateway. (*)
