Tender for 2011 subsidized fuel attracts 15 firms

Downstream oil, gas regulator BPH Migas disclosed on Thursday that as many as 15 companies have picked up tender documents for rights to distribute subsidized fuels in 2011.

BPH Migas's head Tubagus Haryono said that the agency had invited 34 companies to participate in the tender but only 15 of them came to the agency's office to pick up tender documents.

The 15 firms are PT Pertamina, PT Elnusa Petrofin, PT Patra Niaga, Petrobas Niaga Indonesia, Total Oil Indonesia, PT AKR Corporindo, PT Trans-Pacific Petrochemical Indotama (TPPI), PT Petronas Niaga Indonesia, PT Bumi Asri Prima Pratama, PT Premindo Mitra Kencana, PT Shell Indonesia, PT Petro Andalan Nusantara, PT Usaha Gemilang Utama, PT Usaha Catur Mitra and PT Lingga Perdana.

This year, government is offering a subsidy quota totalling 500.56 kiloliters per day or about 182,704 kiloliter per year for Premium gasoline and 579.79 kiloliters per day or about 211,624 kiloliters per year for diesel oil, he said.

The tender is for rights to distribute diesel oil in 22 provinces in outside java and to distribute Premium gasoline in 20 provinces outside java.

The interested companies should submit their bid prices by July 1-2, he added. (godang)
