The implementation of government-funded electricity-related projects for 2005 in conflict-torn areas of Maluku and North Maluku have progressed slowly, Bisnis Indonesia daily reported on Saturday.
Harya Adityawarman of the planning department for energy sector at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, said that the slow progress was related to delays in tender activities for the projects due to poor planning.
The paper quoted him as saying that only 2-5 percent of the
overall targeted projects had been realized. He, however, said that the government was determined to speed up the tender process during the remaining period of this year.(*)
