TEPI reviews seismic plan for Mentawai block

Total E&P Indonesie (TEPI), a subsidiary of French firm Total SA, is reviewing its seismic plan for the Bengkulu I-Mentawai block, Bengkulu together with the provider of the survey.
This was said by Arividya Novriyanto, TEPI?s VP for Human Resources, Communication and General Services on Tuesday. He however did not divulge the name of the provider.
He said for this year, TEPI will only carry out study to meet its firm commitment.
In 2014, Total carried out deep water exploration drilling at the Rendang 1x well in the block, but the result was a dry hole. In July of last year, the firm announced a plan to carry out a 2D seismic survey in the block, but no information is available regarding the execution of the survey.
The block is 80 percent owned and operated by Total which was awarded with the block contract on October 2012. The remaining 20 percent interest is held by UAE-based Mubadala Petroleum LLC through its Indonesia unit Mubadala Petroleum (Bengkulu Mentawai) Ltd.
