Terra Global begins 2D seismic in North Baturaja block

PT Terra Global Vestal Baturaja early this month started 2D seismic survey at the North Baturaja block in Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra Province, which was a delay from the initial plan of the first quarter of this year.

Ekki Yulisman, Public Relations Manager at upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas southern Sumatra operation, said that the delay was due to land acquisition and compensation issue.

Ekki said that the 2D seismic survey, which covers five districts including Mesuji, Lempuing, Lempuing Jaya, Tanjung Lebuk, and Mesuji Makmur, is expected to be concluded in June of 2018.

The North Baturaja block covers an area of approximately 4,295 sq km onshore South Sumatra. The block was awarded on December 19, 2011 for a term of 30 years. Terra Global is the 100 percent owner of the block.
