Terregra eyes hydro power projects in Aceh

IDX-listed power company PT Terregra Asia Energy Tbk plans to develop two hydro power plant projects in Aceh Province as it seeks to expand its power plant assets.
Terregra President Director Djani Sutedja said to Petromindo.com recently that feasibility studies for the two projects, each with capacity of 139 MW and 50 MW, are expected to start at the end of this year.
He said that one of the two projects will be located in Aceh Jaya Regency. No further details were provided.
Terregra is also developing a number of mini hydro power plant projects in the neighboring North Sumatra. Djani said previously that the company hopes to be able to start construction of a 2x5 MW mini hydro power plant project in Batang Toru, North Sumatra, at the end of this year.
He said that the company is in the process of completing the acquisition of remaining land requirement for the project. He said that the company has acquired around 80 percent of the land requirement of around 23 hectares. Terregra previously said it will invest US$70-75 million to develop 4 mini hydro power plants projects in North Sumatra with combined capacity of 36.8 MW.
The company has appointed China Energy Engineering Group Guanxi Electric Power Design Institute Co.Ltd as main EPC contractor.
Aside from Batang Toru, the company will also develop Raisan Naga Timbul project with capacity of 2x3.5MW and 2x5 MW and Sisira project with capacity of 1x9.8MW.
