As the LOFIN-1 exploration well on Seram Island has reached a depth of 4,383 meters MD with 379 feet of open-hole Manusela Formation below the 5 inch casing shoe, a four rate flow test has resulted in a final gas rate of 15.7 mmscfd with 171 bopd of 36.1 oil and condensate.

The test also resulted in flowing wellhead pressure of 4,750 psi on 24/64 inch choke, Australia-listed Lion Energy Ltd said in an operation update.

It added that the four rate flow test was run at the beginning of November with each rate 8 hours in duration. Following the four rate test, 30 barrels of acid was injected into the formation and the well is currently cleaning up to the flare pit.

The LOFIN prospect is a thrust fold four-way dip closure anticline, which is located 56 kilometers to the west of the producing Oseil oilfield that has produced in excess of 10 million barrels of crude oil since production start-up in late 2002.

The LOFIN-1 exploration well was spudded on January 17, 2012.
