The planned drilling of the exploration PA-1 well in the Mahato PSC, Central Sumatra Basin which is operated by Texcal Mahato EP Ltd. has been delayed.
?There was a plan to spud the PA-1 well, but it is still in the process of obtaining license from the Kampar regency government related to environmental documents (already discussed) and land acquisition from a palm oil company (HGU) PT Tunggal Yunus. The land acquisition is facilitated by BPN,? SKK Migas' Chief Representative for northern part of Sumatra (Sumbagut) Hanif Rusdy told Petromindo.com referring to the National Land Agency.
According to Hanif, the drilling of the PA-1 well depends on the completion of the above two processes.
He said that Texcal initially planned to drill PA-1 well in April of this year.
The Mahato PSC covers a highly prospective area close to several large producing oil fields and multiple appraisal and exploration opportunities have been mapped.
Texcal Mahato EP holds 62.5 percent as the operator in Mahato PSC, ASX-listed Cue Energy Resources Ltd holds a 12.5 percent interest, and the remaining 25 percent interest is held by Bukit Energy Central Sumatra (Mahato) Pte.
