Thai, Australian cement producers asked PLN for power

Two cement producers from Thailand and Australia have asked state-owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) to supply a total of 75 megawatts (MW) for their plannd cement plants, Bisnis Indonesia reported Tuesday.

General Manager of PT PLN?s West Java and Banten Distribution Center Murtaqi Syamsuddin said in Bandung, West Java that Australian-based PT Boral needed a power supply of 25 MW for its planned cement plant in the southern part of Banten.

?Meanwhile, another company from Thailand, backed up by Siam Cement, will build a cement plant in the southern part of Sukabumi (West Java) that will need a power supply of 50 MW,? he said. (*)
