Thailand interested to cooperate in LNG and CBM development

The other conclusion of the forum was that Indonesia and Thailand realized the increasingly important role of coal in the energy consumption.
Both countries also agreed to exchange experience and information in the development of coal and renewable energy.
The two countries agreed that the meeting will be followed by business-to-business level talks.
The 3rd ITEF was held on July 12-13, 2011 at Hotel Holiday Inn Pattaya, Thailand. The main agenda of the meeting was about how to boost cooperation in the development of oil-and-gas, coal bed methane (CBM), electricity and coal, renewable energy, energy efficiency, emergency response, research and development as well as education and training.
Indonesian delegation was led by Expert Staff of the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry on Institution and Strategic Planning, Hadiyanto. While Thailand?s delegation was led by Kurujit Nakornthap.
Indonesian Ambassador to Thailand Mohammad Hatta said he expects the cooperation will strengthen the energy security within ASEAN region, in particular toward the creation of ASEAN Economic Community 2015.
Indonesia-Thailand Energy Forum (ITEF) was established following the meeting between the Indonesian President and Thailand Prime Minister in October 2006 in Jakarta.
In the following year, on December 21, 2007, both countries agreed to form an Energy Forum, which was signed by the Energy Ministers of both countries.
The 1st ITEF was held in Bangkok, Thailand on July 11-12 2008. During the meeting, both countries agreed to cooperate in energy sector.
The 2nd ITEF meeting was held in Jogyakarta on July 28-29, 2010, with a theme, ?Strengthening Cooperation and Tightening Friendship in Energy Sector?. (*)
