ASX-listed Western Mining Network Limited announced on Friday that assay results have been received from the third phase of exploration on the Persada tenement, comprising a topographic and grid soil auger sampling program.

The Persada tenement is located northeast of Palu in Central Sulawesi, between Toli-toli and Buol. It is approximately 50km east of Toli-toli and covers 5,000ha. There is an access road to the tenement via the Lakea village road, west of the Buol ? Toli-toli highway.

The third phase of exploration was undertaken as a follow up to previous stream sediment sampling that revealed anomalous gold (Au) and mapping identified several altered zones with rock chip samples that contain gold (Au). One anomalous prospective block was identified from this third phase with an area of 80ha.

One hundred thirty auger samples and 17 rock chip samples were taken for assay, of which seven were selected for petrographic analysis and five were selected for mineragraphic analysis to assist understanding of the mineralisation and alteration style. All samples were analysed by PT Intertek Utama Services, a reputable mineral laboratory in Jakarta. Rock chip samples were analysed using Fire Assay (Method code: FA 51) for Au with a detection limit of 0.01 ppm. Cold vapour AAS (Method Code: CV02) were used for Mercury (Hg) determination and ICP-OES method (Code: IC01) were used after aqua regia digest for Ag, As, Bi, Cu, Mo, Pb, Sb, Te & Zn.

The highest gold result is from rock chip sample RF-152 with 0.5g/t Au followed by auger sample AUGER K-900 with 0.34g/t Au. Gold is associated with high arsenic in RF-152 at 4,440ppm As and OC-057-PBR with 2,790ppm As. Rock chip sample RF-060-PBR returned 1,010ppm Cu.
