Three coal-fired power plants in Java to start operating

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono today will inaugurate the commercial operation of three coal-fired power plants (PLTU) in Java. The power plants will help strengthen power supply in the Java-Bali area.

The power plants are PLTU Suralaya, Banten with capacity of 1x625 megawatt (MW), PLTU Lontar Banten unit 1 with output capacity of 1x315 MW and PLTU Tanjungjati B Unit 3 in Jepara, with output capacity of 1x660 MW.

The first two power plants are part of the 10,000 MW power program phase I.

At the same time, President Yudhoyono will also officiate the ground breaking of the construction of the Residual Fluid Catalytic Cracking (RFCC) project of PT Pertamina Refinery Unit IV in Cilacap, Central Java. (godang)
