Three coal tugboats run aground near Cilegon

Three tugboats carrying coal for PLTU Suralaya coal fired plant ran aground in the Salira Beach, Cilegon on Wednesday due to high tide and strong wind, according to a report.
Two of the boats which were owned by Prima Nusantara nearly sank near the Salira beach in the Sunda Strait. The three tug boats had not been evacuated as bad weather sill hampered evacuation activities, according to Liputan6.com.
Strong winds and high seas have frequently hit the sea in the Sunda strait in recent months, hampering the operation of passenger ferries from Merak in Banten and Bakahuni port in Lampung. (*)
