Three companies have submitted letters expressing interest to farm in the Andaman III block offshore North Sumatra, owned by Canadian oil and gas firm Talisman Energy, according to an industrial source.
The source, who requested anonymity, told Petromindo.com that three companies are Swedish oil and gas firm Lundin Petroleum, SGX-listed upstream company Kris Energy, and Energy giant Royal Dutch Shell.
The Andaman III block covers an area of 8,517 sqkm in the water depth of 1,000-1,400 meters. Talisman was awarded the production sharing contract for the Andaman III block in 2009, holding 100 percent interest.
