Three foreign investors have expressed interest in acquiring gold mining firm PT Meares Soputan Mining (MSM) in Minahasa, North Sulawesi, the local Manado Post daily reported Tuesday.

The paper quoted company official Sahabuddin Umar as saying that the three investors had already established a long presence in the country. He declined to name the companies.

MSM is a unit of Aurora Gold, which have recently expressed plans to leave North Sulawesi due to unfavorable investment in the province. The group had initially negotiated with Austindo to sell the MSM unit, but no deal could be reached.(*)
