Rescue team found three more dead miners from underground at a coal mine in Sawah Lunto, West Sumatra, which collapsed on January 24 following methane gas explosion.
?Three more victims in the Sawah Lunto mine explosion were found dead this morning at a depth of 156 meters,? Moch. Hernanto, spokesman of the National Search and Rescue Agency (Bassarnas), told Petromindo.com on Thursday via text message.
One miner had been previously found dead from the explosion incident, thus raising the number of fatalities to four.
Hernanto said that one miner is still trapped in the mine, which is operated by PT Dasrat Sarana Arang Sejati. Evacuation process has been hampered by the high level of CO2.
