Coal mining firm PT Thriveni has cut down production at its concession in Jambi to around 20,000 tons per month this year due to the lingering coal market downturn.
?We only produce around 20,000 tons monthly and all are allocated for the domestic market,? said C. Kumaresan, Country Head in Indonesia of India?s Thriveni, on the sidelines of an independent power producer conference held by Petromindo.com Thursday.
He added that last year the company was still able to produce up to 1.2 million tons. ?Last year we were able to export our coal to India, but entering 2016 we stop the export activity and focusing on (the Indonesian) domestic market,? he said.
