PT Thriveni, a subsidiary of Indian firm Thriveni Earthmovers, puts 1.5 million tons of coal as the realistic production target due to road bottleneck problems in its operational area in Jambi.
"In fact, we are able to produce up to 2 million tons, but 1.5 million tons is the realistic figure," Thriveni's Assistant Vice President Saroj Kumar Patro told to Petromindo.com on Wednesday.
The firm, an IUP holder, exports its coal from the Jambi mine through the Jabak riverside port in Batanghari regency, Jambi,. The company is considering expanding its coal operation in Kalimantan.
Saroj said Indonesian coal export to India keeps growing each year due to huge Indian low rank coal demand to fuel its coal-fired power plants.
