Thriveni?s briquetting coal plant project still on track

Coal mining firm PT Thriveni stated that the development of its coal briquetting plant project in Souuth Sumatra is still on the track.
C. Kumaresan, Country Head in Indonesia of India?s Thriveni, told Petromindo.com on Friday that the land preparation works are still in progress and plant construction is scheduled to start in July 2016.
"All equipment for the briquetting plant have arrived in Indonesia and we are still on track schedule to start the development in July," he said adding that the plant is planned to produce around 500,000 tons of briquetting coal per year.
"We are targeting Australian and Japanese markets as demand in both countries is huge," he said.
Earlier, Kumaresan said that aside from the briquetting plant, the firm will also develop a coal fired power plant with the capacity of 6 MW. The power plant is still in land clearing and development process, he said, stopping short of elaborating on the location of the power plant.
