Coal mining company PT Thriveni, a subsidiary of Indian mining firm Thriveni Earthmovers, has set a higher production target of 2 million tons this year from its mine in Jambi Province.
Thriveni's Country Head in Indonesia, C. Kumaresan told Petromindo.com that realized output in 2014 was 1.4 million tons, lower than the 1.8 million tons target.
"Last year we could not pass through the river as it was really dry and it lasted for about four months," he said.
"This year, we are optimistic that the surface of the river will rise hence we can deliver the coal through the river," he added.
