Tiaka field again resumes production

Saturday, September 3 2011 - 01:57 PM WIB

State oil, gas company PT Pertamina and co-operator PT Medco E&P Indonesia have again restarted oil operations at Tiaka oil field at Senoro-Toili block, Central Sulawesi on Friday, an official with upstream oil, gas authority BPMIGAS said.

Spokesman Gde Pradnyana said the partnership has on Friday morning restarted production from 2 wells out of the 6 producing wells. Gde said production was still constrained by power supply, which had been damaged when the riot took place. ?Hopefully, production can go back to normal level of 1,600 BPD next week,? he said.

The field operator shut down the field for second time in just one week since Monday, following a riot that took two lives of the locals.(godang)
