Tiarabumi postpones production of Sampoerna field to early 2015

PT Tiarabumi Petroleum has postponed the production of the Sampoerna oil field in the West Air Komering block, Ogan Komering Ulu regency, South Sumatra, to early this year, according to an official of upstream authority SKK Migas.

Division Head Public Relations of SKK Migas Rudianto Rimbono said recently that the field was initially sheduled to start production in the fourth quarter of the year with an output of 530 barrels per day of oil. Now, it is scheduled to start production in this early 2015.

The West Air Komering block was awarded to Tiarabumi on March 22, 2007.

In addition, according to Rudianto, there are five other projects whose operation sechedule have been delayed. They are the full-scale project of Banyu Urip-EMCL (2,480 bopd), the Bukit Tua field-Petronas (3,235 bopd), the Kerendan field-Salamander Energy Bangkanai (81 bopd), the Ridho field-Odira Karang Agung (997 bopd), and the Bayan field-Manhattan Kalimantan Indonesia (82 bopd).

"The postponement of the operations of the six projects will lead to the opportunity loss of producing 7,400 barrels per day of oil," he said.
