Tidore power plant will start operation in August

A 2x7MW coal fired power plant in Tidore of North Maluku Province will start its commercial operation in August this year, supplying power for the islands of Tidore, Ternate and Maitara.

"The power plant will need up to 74,000 tons of coal per year, and current coal suppliers include Oktasan and PLN Batubara,? Head of Coal Division of state owned electricity company PLN Helmi Najamuddin told Petromindo.com recently.
