Legislator Ramson Siagian from the House of Representatives' Commission III on energy and mining slammed the management of state tin mining firm PT Timah for its slackness in collecting Timah's money of $30 million from Bahana Securities.
Ramson said that Timah president Erry Riayana Hardjapamekas promised the commission last February that he would soon demand payment from Bahana.
"But, up until now, there are no signs that Timah will tackle the problem. In fact, Timah can use the money to boost its capital," Ramson said on Wednesday.
He said if Erry was still not be able to collect the money, the Commission could propose to the government to replace Erry with other potential candidate to lead the publicly-listed tin miner.
In a hearing with Erry last February, the commission demanded him to disburse promissory notes worth Rp 280 billion Timah had bought from Siti Hedianti Prabowo through PT Pentasena Artha Sentosa and PT Bahana Securities. (*)
