IDX-listed tin miner PT Timah expects to produce only 45,000 tons of tin-in-concentrate in 2010 due to unfavorable weather condition.
2010 production would be below initial target of 49,000-50,000 tons or about similar with last year?s production, President Director Wachid Usman said on Friday.
The decreasing in production is also contributed by the depletion of the company?s tin resources and difficulties in obtaining license to start production at several mines.
From January to June 2010, Timah has only produced 17,588 tons of tins-in concentrate.
The company?s tin-in-concentrate production in 2009 reached 45,086 tons, down 8 percent from 49,029 tons in 2008. (*)
