Timah to develop mine mouth power plant in S. Sumatra

IDX-listed tin giant PT Timah Tbk said it will team up with IDX-listed engineering and construction firm PT Adhi Karya Tbk, and PT Indonesia Power, a subsidiary of state-owned electricity firm PT PLN, to develop a 2x150 MW mine mouth power plant in South Sumatra, Investor Daily reported Friday.
Timah President Director Sukrisno was quoted as saying that the planned power plant will be located near the company?s coal mine in the province which has estimated resources of 60 million tons.
Sukrisno said that Timah wants to be a majority shareholder in the project, at least 51 percent.
He hoped construction of the Rp 3 trillion power plant project can start this year, and to be completed in two years.(*)
