Timah to start tin chemical production in May

IDX-listed tin miner PT Timah expects to begin operating its tin chemical factory, which is located in Cilegon, Banten province, in May instead of April this year.

?The Factory is expected to start operation by May 2010 with a production capacity of 10,000 ton per year (tpy),? the company said in a statement on Wednesday.

Earlier, Timah President Director Wachid Usman said that the construction of the factory was scheduled to be completed in February and it will be commissioned in March. The company expects it can start production in April.

Tin chemical is mostly used in the plastic industry. Timah began building the factory in January 2009. (denny)
