A consortium of PT Timas Suplindo and Subsea7 has won the tender for an EPC work at Chevron Indonesia?s IDD project in East Kalimantan, according to a source.
?Timas and Subsea 7 consortium has won (the tender), but has yet to be announced by Chevron management,? the source told Petromindo.com Friday.
As reported by this portal at the end of July this year, the consortium was bidding for the EPC of the Subsea Umbilicals, Risers and Flowlines (SURF) in Chevron's IDD (Gehem-Gendalo) project. A source said that the consortium offered the lowest bid of $1.9 billion, as compared to Chevron?s budget of $2 billion.
Meanwhile, Chevron Indonesia Senior Vice President for Strategic Business Support, Yanto Sianipar, said that his company was committed to speed up the process of completing the final investment decision (FID) for the IDD project including the process of the EPC tender.
?We?re rushing to complete the FID and the EPC tender,? said Yanto, without giving a time frame.
The IDD project, located in the Makassar Strait, off shore East Kalimantan is scheduled to be on stream in April 2015 for the Bangka field, November 2016 for Gendalo field, and May 2017 for Gehem field.
