Timika gas engine power plant to start operation in 2018

State-owned electricity firm PT PLN said it has recently started construction of a gas engine power plant (PLTMG) in Timika, Mimika Regency, Papua Province.
?Land acquisition has been completed. Construction process has started,? said PLN Business Director for Maluku and Papua Regions, Ahmad Rofiq to Petromindo.com on Tuesday.
He said that the power plant project, located near the Paumako Port in Mimika Timur District, will have a combined capacity of 50 MW, but will be developed in two phases, the first phase 10 MW and second phase 40 MW, both of which are targeted to start operation in 2018.
